Palin Qualified to Be President? New Poll Says Emphatically "No"

After last week's most recent embarrassments at both the Tea Party Convention and on Fox News it appears that Sarah Palin has reinforced the perception that she is profoundly unqualified to be President of the United States. At the Tea Party Convention she was seen by a national television audience reading scribbled notes from the palm of her hand. This came shortly after criticizing President Obama for using a teleprompter and during a question and answer session for which she was prepared for in advance. It was stunning that she would bring up the worn out teleprompter criticism after President Obama's recent performance at the House Republican retreat where he outshined his hosts during a live national broadcast.

Shortly thereafter, Palin appeared on Fox News and floated the possibility that President Obama might "play the Iran war card" in an attempt to enhance his prospects for re-election in 2012. Even the interviewer seemed somewhat stunned at this bizarre notion. It was not a good week for Palin.

These incidents, combined with countless past blunders, seem to have solidified her lack of competence in the minds the American electorate. There is undoubtedly a relatively small but very enthusiastic group of supporters who remain fiercely loyal to Palin. But even that group appears to be shrinking. According to the most recent Washington Post/ABC News poll, 71% of Americans believe she is unqualified to be President of the United States and only 37% have a favorable opinion of Palin. A majority of Republicans also believe Palin is not qualified for the nation's highest office! Although she will continue to have a voice and some level of influence within the GOP, it is becoming more and more obvious that she has no chance of being elected in 2012.

Sarah Palin Goes After Blogger and Free Speech

Sarah Palin and her lawyer, Thomas Van Flein, are livid about the fact that blogger Shannyn Moore said that here are rumors circulating about a criminal investigation into some of Sarah Palin's financial activities. I hardly think that rises to the level of defamation. I have no idea if there is any type of investigation that has Sarah Palin in its crosshairs.

But I do know that this country will not stand by and watch somebody like Sarah Palin and her lawyer attempt to chill free speech. I refuse to watch one of the most uninformed people ever on the national stage intimidate bloggers or reporters. It is now crystal clear that his woman has no concept of what this country is all about.

I guess her memory is pretty short. The woman who is now showing to the world that she is one of the most thin-skinned, hyper-sensitive politicians in the history of the U.S. seems to forget that she accused Barack Obama of "palling around with terrorists" just a few months ago.

Sarah: it is one thing if you want to commit political suicide on July 4th, but it is quite another thing if you want to go on a campaign to chill free speech. Myself and millions like me will not let you do that.

Sarah Palin Resigns!

I have no idea what is behind this latest move in the never-ending saga of Sarah Palin's troubled political life. She gave no real reason for this move in her rambling press conference today. No matter the reason, I say that abandoning her duties as Governor at this moment seals the deal that there is no way this woman will ever be elected to high-office in the United States. In reality, she would never have been elected as President even without this story. She was embarrassingly uninformed and it quickly became clear to the majority of Americans that she was not "Vice-Presidential material" let alone Presidential material. Palin's popularity has plummeted in her home state in recent months and she is a scandal magnet.

It will be interesting to see the real, underlying reasons for this decision. It is way too early for her to resign if she was preparing a 2012 presidential run. It has to be something else. I am actually a little sad because the only 100% guarantee that Barack Obama serves a second term is if Sarah Palin is at the top of the GOP ticket in 2012. I really don't think we're going to see that now. But, with this Republican party, anything is possible.

The only person sadder than me to see Palin go is Tina Fey. But I have the feeling this is not the last we are going to see of Sarah Palin and this this is not my last blog post about the former Alaska Governor.

Palin Won't Go Away - Blames Media, Bloggers

Sarah Palin is like that irritating rash that just won't go way. You think it's gone but it starts popping up again and again. I had hoped I had written my last post about Sarah Palin in 2008, but it looks like I am going to have to refute her nonsense again in 2009. I was one of the first to immediately reject McCain's insulting pick for a VP (see post here). And as long as she keeps popping up her head I will be forced to continue to smack her back down like one of those "Whack-A-Mole" games.

Her recent comments:

1. In speaking about being able to see Russia from Alaska she said the following: "You can! You can see Russia from Alaska. Something like that -- a factual statement that was taken out of context and mocked -- what you have to do is let that go."
   What she fails to speak about is that she tried to imply that being able to see Russia from Alaska was a foreign policy qualification. Nice try Sarah, but trying to rewrite history in the same manner as George W. Bush just isn't going to cut it. We are onto that game we aren't playing that here.
   
   
2. "Bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie annoy me."
   Well I can only speak for this blogger who is NOT bored, NOT pathetic, NOT anonymous and who challenges the Queen of Ignorance to point out any lie on this blog.
   


3. On Katie Couric she states the following: "I never saw the interview after Katie edited it, they spliced it together, did whatever they did and then aired it -- never saw how it came across. But my understanding is that . . . so many other topics that were brought up certainly weren't, uh, portrayed as accurately perhaps as they could have, should have been after that interview."
   I'm still trying to understand the incomprehensible Palin babble-speak, but I think she is trying to imply that editing made her look bad during the Couric interview. I have news for you Sarah, it wasn't the editing that made you look bad. Your stunning ignorance on a broad range of topics and inability to communicate effectively made you look bad. In other words YOU made yourself look bad. Quit trying to blame Katie Couric for your disastrous performance.
   
   My problem all along with Sarah Palin has not been the drama within her family or rifts within the McCain Palin campaign. It has always been the clear fact that she is incredibly unqualified to be anywhere near the White House.

Palin and Cheney Are Playing With My Head!

I don't know if the Republicans are messing with me or what, but I have been followed by Dick Cheney and Sarah Palin on two consecutive days. Yesterday while working on a project in New Orleans I got word that Dick Cheney was in town. And on my way back into Pensacola, Florida this morning I passed the Civic Center and saw CNN along with other news satellite trucks. I whip out my iPhone and see that Sarah Palin is coming to town today.

I'm thinking this is possibly part of the "domestic surveillance" program or an act of intimidation on the part of the Bush administration and the McCain campaign. Maybe they came across my blog and didn't like what they saw. I am curious how they knew about my blog though because I wasn't going to start promoting it until this coming weekend. Oh yeah, I forgot that they monitor everybody's internet habits, mail, phone calls, email, and reading list. It's all starting to make sense now.

It rained in New Orleans yesterday and it's raining here in Pensacola today. These two forces of darkness seem to bring dark clouds wherever they go. I'm tired and I plan to sleep through her campaign stop in Pensacola; that is if I don't get arrested for my free thinking and enthusiastic support of Barrack Obama. If this ends up being my last blog post, you guys please come looking for me in Guantanamo or in some secret foreign prison.

Palin = Bush On Steroids

I'm really not up to it. What I'm saying is if Palin's butt somehow ends up plopping down on the chair in the Oval Office because McCain checks out of this life, I can't take another George W. Bush.

I can't take another President who doesn't read newspapers. What is really unbelievable is that I honestly believe that she couldn't think of a newspaper when she was asked by Katie Couric. I can't take another President who says "Nuke-U-Ler" instead of "Nuke-Lee-Er." I can't take another President who is absolutely clueless about foreign policy and needs to be schooled on the subject starting from ZERO knowledge. I can't take another religious fanatic, end-timer with his or her finger on the nuclear button. I can't accept another President/Vice President who thinks that the Vice President and President need more power; yeah, she actually spoke about an expanded role for the Vice President. I will not accept another President who is the one people think they would rather have a beer with; I know I'd have a lot better time knocking a few back with Obama anyway. I would be looking for the nearest exit within 30 seconds after listening to Palin's nasal voice drone on at a 3rd grade-level of conversation.

All I am absolutely sure of is that this country cannot survive another intellectually deficient President like George W. Bush. We need some brain power and competence in order to start cleaning up the destruction of our economy and repair our international standing. We need to restore the time when the United States stood for something by respecting the Constitution and representing excellence in this world. The last eight years have been a race towards the bottom in virtually every category both foreign and domestic. Sarah Palin looking over John McCain's shoulder is an unacceptable option. No George W. Bush in a dress. Time for folksy airhead Sarah to get on back up there to Alaska Doggone-it.

The Rise and Fall of McCain/Palin

It looks like the polling data is starting to move back in the direction of Barack Obama as I thought it would. The shine is starting to wear off of Palin and this economic turmoil leaves McCain looking weak when he tries to speak about it logically. For him to now be pushing regulation of the financial system when he was against it all these years makes him look ridiculous.

When we look back on this election after November 4th I predict that we will see that McCain/Palin peaked immediately after the Republican convention. The more we find out about Sarah Palin, the worse she looks. She has a lot of fires popping up and the "Republican Truth Suppression Squad" is having trouble putting them all out; the blaze is now out of control and is only about 20% contained. Obama seized the upper-hand, finally went on offense and skillfully beat McCain over the head with his "the fundamentals of the economy are strong" comments. John McCain is on the canvas, bloody, dazed, and he will rise to his feet before the 10 count. But not before Obama has taken back the momentum in this election.

There are only 48 days to go, the economy is swirling the drain, the "Palin-effect" is wearing off, McCain is looking clueless, and blatant lies continue to flow out of the Republican smear machine. Without an "October Surprise" up their sleeve, I predict the desperate tactics of the Republicans will be rejected and Obama will be the winner of a historic election on November 4th.

Matt Damon on the Absurd Possibilty of Sarah Palin as President

Matt Damon is "the man." Somebody high-profile needed to say this. It looks like its not going to be done in any meaningful way by the media. Obama can't do it or it's considered "picking on a defenseless soccer mom." Way to go Matt Damon!

You've Got To Be Joking! Palin for VP???

Are we being punked?? Or did John McCain really just select Sarah Palin to be his VP? What an obvious pander attempt to woo disenchanted Hillary Clinton voters. I'm going to have faith that the target audience for this ridiculous VP selection won't go for it. I have a good feeling that John McCain just lost the 2008 election. Does he really believe that this is the 2nd most qualified person in a country of 300 million people to be Commander-In-Chief of the United States? This is clearly the worst choice for a running mate in the history of the U.S. and begs the question about John McCain's judgement.

You're putting this woman a heartbeat away from the Presidency, but at the same time trying to make the argument that Barack Obama is not ready to be President? I should say a heartbeat away from the Presidency with a 72 year old President; she REALLY could become the President. She is the Governor of Alaska which has a population of 680,000 people. That's right, the entire state has fewer people than 17 CITIES within the U.S. including Columbus OH, Jacksonville FL, and Austin TX! Sarah Palin has no business being considered for VP. I am having Harriet Miers flashbacks at this very moment. I'm thinking he may have to withdraw this nomination and make another selection from the weak pool of Republican VP candidates. If not, Obama can start putting his transition team together now.

UPDATE: I must be on to something because Ariana Huffington just posted almost the exact same comments I posted about Sarah Palin (after I did). I'm convinced she's using my blog for ideas; well I'm convinced of this in my own fantasy world which is good enought for me:
